There
is No Such
Thing as a “Universal” ATF.
Different vehicles require their own
specific mix of automatic transmission fluid capabilities. A few
examples include:
- Offer the correct friction
coefficients for torque converters with active lockup or dual lockup
clutch systems
- Provide wear protection for solenoid
modulator bores in new 5 and 6-speed transmissions
- Help prevent potential overdrive
